Rigdzin Ling is delighted to welcome Tromge Jigme Rinpoche as Vajra Master for our Chenrezig Drubchen, with Chagdud Khadro, Lama Padma, Lama Rigdzin and Lama Yeshe in attendance. More lamas are expected to join us, so this is not an event to miss!

Tromge Jigme Rinpoche is the resident lama of Chagdud Gonpa Ati Ling and the son of our late master, H.E. Chagdud Tulku Rinpoche. At a young age Jigme Rinpoche was recognized by H.E. Chokling Rinpoche as his previous life’s son, Tsewang Norbu, who was a reincarnation of Yudra Nyingpo, one of Guru Rinpoche’s twenty-five disciples, and an emanation of Chenrezig.

A Drubchen ("Great Accomplishment Practice") is an intensive that uses a traditional mandala as the support for ritual, meditation and mantra recitation. Considered one of the most effective means for purifying obscurations and gathering merit and wisdom, Guru Padmasambhava prophesied that a practitioner who engages in a drubchen with pure motivation and concentration will gain the same benefits of a three-year retreat.

Meditating on or merely thinking of Chenrezig’s form refines away the effects of selfishness, confusion and negativity, and forges a link with unbiased compassion. Eventually, a realization dawns that the brilliantly clear and empty form of Chenrezig, together with all its inexhaustible qualities, is not other than one’s own true nature. As the brilliance of that realization intensifies, the compassionate activities of Chenrezig completely pervade all realms of existence bringing immeasurable benefit to all beings.

Within the context of this Drubchen, we will join together to meditate on the Chenrezig practices contained in the terma cycle of Tromge Kusum Gongdu, The Enlightened Intent of the Three Kayas. We will also be performing a Ceremony for the Deceased.  This ceremony is performed at the height of the Drubchen for the benefit of those who have died, wherever they may be wandering in the six realms or the intermediate state.  By invoking their consciousness and purifying the subtle causes of suffering, they can find ease from fear and pain. At the conclusion, their consciousness is sent directly to the blissful pure realm of Amitabha Buddha.‍‍‍
