Let’s join together to conclude the final days of the Rabbit Year with power and auspiciousness at our group ritual ceremonies. These meditation practices include prayers and mantra recitations, teachings and daily feast offerings (tsok). Then, we will gather together to welcome the Wood Dragon year, Saturday Feb 10, to take the bodhichitta vow and recite the King of Aspiration Prayer.
It will be permissible to attend any of the practices for any amount of days, but you must have the specific empowerment for each.
Lama Padma will bestow the Red Vajrasattva and Padmakilaya empowerments on the first morning of their respective practice days, ie., Feb. 1st and 4th. The empowerments will not be livestreamed. Vajrakilaya empowerment will not be given.

Vajrasattva practice purifies the subtle mental and emotional habits that obscure our free, compassionate and open nature. Meditating with the skillful means of the Vajrayana tradition, it is swift and powerful. This lotus family Red Vajrasattva practice is drawn from the great teaching cycle known as “The Union of Enlightened Intent of the Three Kayas” revealed by Terton Padgyal Lingpa. Red Vajrasattva group retreats have been an annual event at Rigdzin Ling since 1993.
Padmakilaya was directly transmitted to Chagdud Tulku Rinpoche by Padgyal Lingpa himself and it became the wrathful guru practice that Rinpoche practiced for decades. It was then passed on to Tulku Sang-ngag Rinpoche who, in turn, bestowed it several times at Rigdzin Ling. He authorized Lama Padma Gyatso to bestow the empowerment and propagate this powerful antidote to strong harmful influences and emotions.
Vajrakilaya brings the practitioner into direct contact with the display of compassionate wrath, the intense energy of enlightened activity that subdues the forces of negativity. Guru Rinpoche transmitted this method of accomplishing Vajrakilaya to his heart disciple, Yeshe Tsogyal, who made it her main practice and was the source of her extraordinary spiritual attainment. The specific practice we will use is The Razor that Destroys at a Touch, from Dudjom Jigdral Yeshe Dorje Rinpoche’s Treasure Cycle.
