Lama Padma will present a series of teachings that will illuminate the line-by-line meaning of Shantideva’s The Way of the Bodhisattva, enabling us to read and reread each chapter and find a deeper and deeper meaning. This poetic composition was one of the earliest texts to reach Tibet and has become the cornerstone of the entire path taught in all the Mahayana traditions up to the present day. Lama Padma received the transmission of these detailed teachings from Tulku Sang-ngag Rinpoche over several years from the commentary written by Kunzang Palden. Kunzang Palden was a disciple of Paltrul Rinpoche and a teacher of Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, from whom Sang-ngag Rinpoche received it.
We will be using the Shambhala Publication Revised Edition of The Way of the Bodhisattva , which is available at Tibetan Treasures, and we should be prepared to take notes.
