Dear members and friends of Chagdud Gonpa,
Amazingly, we have arrived at our destination! It has been almost a year since the fire destroyed the Rigdzin Ling water system and it has now been fully rebuilt. The task was challenging and complex enough to demand that, side by side with our staff and volunteers, we hired consulting engineers, excavators and especially skilled trades people. The system has not just been restored as it was, but replaced with greatly upgraded fire-resistant pipes (well over 1,500ft.), reinforced fittings and a newly built and redesigned valve shed–the control-room of the system.
All of this was made possible because of the downpour of blessings from your prayers and your generous outpouring of money. The 265 individual donations we received totaled $170,000. The final cost for the project was $170,000. No kidding! Just under $20,000 of that total was from local grants designated for fire recovery. The balance was all from you, the Dharma community. You, who appreciate the beautiful intention of Chagdud Tulku Rinpoche to create opportunities that connect people with the Sacred Dharma and be a support in their accomplishment of it. I feel honored to be part of this community and am filled with deep gratitude for being able to write this brief letter of good news to all of you.
With love and respect,
Lama Padma Gyatso
PS – Exciting reforestation project update coming soon.
This is a profound practice for dispelling obstacles and swiftly accomplishing the realization of intrinsic awareness, composed by His Holiness Dudjom Rinpoche from a treasure of his previous incarnation, Dudjom Lingpa.
Saving the lives of beings that are destined to die an untimely death is an extremely valuable method for creating virtue. Ati Ling conducts saving of lives ceremonies throughout the year. The offering deadline is Sunday, October 29th.
The retreat is based on a Dharma treasure (terma) of the late Chokgyur Lingpa, a contemporary and spiritual brother of Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo. Chokgyur Lingpa is regarded as the last of the one hundred major tertons (treasure revealers).
Join Rinpoche and sangha for this winter practice session — in-person and also online, with everyone welcome. One evening will be in Santa Rosa. Details to follow in the fall.
Following the example of Guru Padmasambhava and many superb lineage masters, we perform Vajrakilaya to overcome outer, inner, and secret obstacles to dharma practice and activity. We apply the skillful means of wrathful compassion to our own minds.
